What Is Your Favorite Seinfeld Episode?

Whenever I’m asked what’s my favorite TV show, I often supply different answers depending on how I’m feeling.  Some days it’s The Simpsons or The Sopranos, others it’s Fawlty Towers or Breaking Bad.  Seinfeld is a series I probably most often tell people is my favorite.  There is no sitcom more influential over the past few years over Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld’s dryly hilarious series.  Seinfeld‘s widespread appeal on how a show about nothing was really the show about everything.  David and co. gave wry and clever commentary on how the small irritations in our lives that constantly hinder our day-to-day routine that for Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer should not be tolerated.

Yesterday, Seinfeld celebrated its 25th Anniversary, so for today’s question, I thought I’d ask what’s your favorite Seinfeld episode?  For me, it’d be the 1991 episode “The Parking Garage,” though there are plenty of other episodes I could also choose (“The Contest” and “The Puffy Jacket” are two of my other favorites).  But what about you?

  1. I love ‘The Betrayal’, the great backwards episode! Though the Parking Garage is also a fantastic episode.

    • The Betrayal is a fantastic episode. Honestly, my favorite episode of the show often varies since I love so many of them.

  2. It’s so hard to pick just one episode, but I have probably watched ‘The Opposite’ more than any other.

    “Who are you, George Costanza?”
“I’m the opposite of every guy you’ve ever met.”

    • That’s a great episode for sure. I’ve probably seen “Parking Garage” the most out of all the episodes.

  3. Oh man, I just read a similar post like this, and I didn’t really know how to respond either, there’s just SO many great ones to choose from! But if I had to go with one, not sure if I’d say it’s my favorite episode, but my favorite bit at least would have to be “NO SOUP FOR YOU!”

Also, have you checked out Jerry Seinfeld’s new show, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee? If not, I’d very much highly recommend it, it’s surprisingly entertaining:

    • I’ve been watching Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee recently and really have been enjoying it. Seinfeld hasn’t done too much since 1998 so I’m very happy to see anything he does.

  4. My personal favourite is ‘The Movie’. It’s one of those episodes that takes place all in one setting (a cinema). I guess I just find it hilarious how many crazy, complicated situations can arise out of a group of friends meeting to see a film, which has actually happened once or twice for me .Someone’s late, you lose your ticket stub, join the wrong queue…fantastic observational stuff.
