Terrance Malick’s newest film is among my most awaited for 2013
As the year ends, most people are putting up their top 10 lists. There are still a few movies I want to see before I make my own (I missed a screening of Django Unchained and should see it within the next few weeks, plus I can’t forget Zero Dark Thirty). But I thought I’d like are there any movies you’re looking forward to seeing next year?
There are three big ones for me. One is Terrance Malick’s To The Wonder, which I named as the best film of 2011. Also there is the Coen brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis. I’m an enormous fan of the Coen brothers, and though I haven’t heard too much about the film I can’t wait to see it. And of course I’ll be seeing The Wolf on Wall Street because I think Martin Scorsese is one of the greatest directors of all time.
But what are your choices?
The Snowman comes out next year, right? So two Scorsese films? Excited!!
My other picks: Good Day to Die Hard 0:30 (comes to my local theaters on Jan. 11 and I CANNOT WAIT) Gangster Squad Oz: Great & Powerful Carrie Evil Dead (I guess I should see the original first though) Catching Fire Man of Steel Inside Llewyn Davis To the Wonder
How funny that Terrence Malick only directed, like, 8 films between 1970 and 2011, and two years later, he has one to follow up The Tree of Life…still, it’s exciting!

Nice picks. I didn’t know The Snowman was coming out this year, but I’ll definitely check it out.
Terrence Malick usually takes long hiatuses between movies, so it’s a great opportunity to see one of his films in theaters. I missed The Tree of Life when it played, which I really regret.

It may be a kids film, but it’s a classic: Monsters Inc. 2 is the film I can’t wait to see next year! Also, The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug looks really good too.

Oh yeah, Monsters Inc 2 is also on my list.

Probably the Wolf of Wall Street. I love DiCaprio in Scorsese’s movies and it has Jean Dujardin in it – which is just too awesome.

Yeah, it looks great. I also heard Rob Reiner and Jonah Hill are in it as well.

Definetely ‘Only God Forgives’. The second Refn/Gosling partnership.

Oh I forgot about that! That’d be on my list as well. If it’s even a tenth as good as Drive, it’s going to be a great movie.

Well we don’t get Django until January, so that’s one of my most anticipated! Also looking forward to Wolf of Wall Street and 12 Years a Slave, the next Fassbender/McQueen collaboration. Pretty sure that’s slated for a 2013 release.

Glad you’re excited for Wolf of Wall Street as well. I’m also excited for 12 Years a Slave, which reminds me I still haven’t seen Shame yet.

I find it kinda weird that they play themselves. Either way, it’s going to be interesting.

“Star Trek: Into the Darkness” for one that I was aware of, and “Oblivion” for one that was off my radar until recently.
