Trailer Analysis: A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III

I only recently learned about A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III and at first I wasn’t sure if it was an actual movie.  As it turns out, it is and based on the trailer it looks really, really funny.

The film is directed and written by Roman Coppola, who frequent collaborates with Wes Anderson, and it does have an Andersonian feel to it, not just because Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman are in it, but it appears to have the same quirk.

The movie plays as a parody of Charlie Sheen’s life, with the title character being played by none other than Charlie Sheen.  I have to admit Sheen must be a good sport to do this film, the bravest role since John Malkovich starred in Being John Malkovich (which also, coincidentally, featured Sheen).  His character, Charlie Swan, pretty much acts a lot like him.

Anyway, I’m excited for the film and if it’s even as half as good as Coppola’s recent Moonrise Kingdom, it’s going to be a great movie.
