Trailer Analysis: Zero Dark Thirty (Trailer 2)

Back in 2009, The Hurt Locker came out and stunned critics everywhere.  Despite its small gross, it went on to take a deserved Best Picture win (and to think some people thought Avatar should have taken it) and became the most acclaimed movie of the year.  Roger Ebert named it the second best film of the decade.

So I was excited to hear about Zero Dark Thirty but I wasn’t too enthusiastic on the first trailer.  After watching this one, however, I’ve completely changed my mind and am now reinvigorated for the movie.  It looks like Kathryn Bigelow has a larger budget for this movie, and it looks great.  Plus it has plenty of my favorite actors in it, including Jessica Chastain, Kyle Chandler, and James Gandolfini.  If it’s as half as good as The Hurt Locker, it’s still going to be an excellent movie.

  1. I agree with your thoughts on the different feelings left between trailer 1 and trailer 2. Now I want to see it. Before I did not.

    • The first trailer didn’t have the same force as this one does. I’m excited to see this one. Thanks for commenting.
