What is your favorite Paul Thomas Anderson movie?

If you’ve read my blog the past week or seen any of my comments on any blog, you know I’ve been raving about Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master.  I haven’t been this obsessed with a film for a long time.  But sadly I’ve actually only seen two of PTA’s movies, The Master and Punch Drunk Love.  So for today’s question, I’d like to ask what’s your favorite PTA film?

PTA has made plenty of acclaimed films of the last decade

Out of the two I’ve seen, I liked The Master the most, though Punch Drunk Love is pretty great as well.  I have a copy of Magnolia I’m going to watch soon, plus a friend of mine is willing to lend his copy of There Will Be Blood.  So what’s your favorite?

  1. I just finished a PTA Marathon over at my site, and I very disappointed by his films. I really do not care for them at all. My favorite of his would be Punch-Drunk Love, the only one that seemed to have some heart to it.

    • Punch Drunk Love is pretty great. Thanks for commenting.

  2. I never watched his movies so cant say anything about him.

    • The two I’ve seen are pretty great, so I’d like to see more. I think you should at least watch one. Thanks for commenting.

      • Welcome 🙂 okay so recommend and I’ll watch when I could 🙂 Thank you very much too 🙂

  3. You have yet to see both of my favorite PTA movies. It is hard to say which is my favorite, but Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood are both fantastic movies.

    • Both of those I need to see. Thanks for commenting.

  4. Magnolia – although it’s not for everybody… I think that this is a truly excellent film but Boogie Nights is great as well.

    • I have a copy of Magnolia I am going to watch soon. I’m trying to get a copy of Boogie Nights. Thanks for commenting.

  5. Great post, I would have to go with Magolia.

    • I still need to Magnolia. Thanks for reminding me.

  6. There Will be Blood for sure. It’s the best film of the decade besides the Social Network. 🙂

    • I still need to see that one, especially since I want to start a Daniel Day-Lewis marathon soon. The Social Network’s definitely been one of my favorites of the last decade too. Thanks for commenting.

      • You really need to. Lewis is a great actor. I’m really looking forward to Lincoln this year. 🙂

      • I as well. It’s perhaps my most anticipated film for the rest of the year (the other ones I’m looking forward to are Django Unchained, Not Fade Away, Amour, and Life of Pi). Daniel Day-Lewis looks incredible as Lincoln.
