What is your most anticipated film of the year?

The Master is one of the few films I’m really looking forward for

A while ago I wrote a post on my most anticipated films of the year.  In fall and winter, studios let out their heavy hitters that are usually the ones that grab awards. So let me ask what’s your most anticipated film for this fall?

I would call it a tie between The MasterLincolnNot Fade Away, and Django Unchained, though there are plenty of more that I want to see.  The Master actually just came out this weekend in limited release and will enter more theaters next week.

But what film do you really want to see?

  1. There are a fair few films that pop up when I think about what I was most looking forward to this year in terms of film – ie, Hobbit, Zero Dark Thirty and Skyfall were some of the more obvious ones. But Looper has been the one film that has got me really interested and anticipating big things from.

    • Looper has gotten me very interested in the past few weeks. I’ll have to check that one out.

  2. Django Unchained & Killing Them Softly for me 🙂

    • Can’t wait for Django! I’m a big Quentin Tarantino fan!

      • Yeah me too, love the casting of Di Caprio.

  3. While the Master is one of my most anticipated films, I would say hands down it has to be Looper. Rian Johnson is a great director, and I really love Brick and Brother’s Bloom to a lesser extent.

    • Looper does look great. I haven’t seen either Brick or Brother’s Bloom, but I’m excited for this one. Thanks for commenting.

      • They are both very good and very different genre films. Also, I have to admit I am actually looking forward to Dredd 3D coming out this week. I thought it looked like a ridiculous film but the high preliminary critic ratings have certainly grabbed my interest.

      • Hmm, now I’m going to have to check that out as well.

  4. The Master, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Django Unchained, Les Mis, Looper, Zero Dark Thirty and many more I’m forgetting. 🙂

    • All of those I really want to see too!

  5. Django Unchained, Looper and The Master for me. Looking like a really great end to the year, think I’m gonna be spending quite a lot of time in the cinema!

    • I agree. Django, Looper, and The Master look great.

  6. Great post, Cloud Atlas seems to be getting a lot of attention lately.

    • Thanks! I’m still on the fence for Cloud Atlas. I liked the Wachowski’s The Matrix but hated Speed Racer. I’ve heard some great and bad things about the film, but it does look pretty good just based on the trailers. Thanks for commenting.

  7. The Master is the only one I KNOW I will be seeing in theaters that I can think of off the top of my head.

    • I’m really excited about The Master. A theater near me is playing it this weekend so I’ll be getting tickets for that. Thanks for commenting.

      • Oh, awesome! I haven’t looked into theater screenings near me yet but I’d really like to see the 70mm print…

      • I’d love to see the 70 mm print as well. I don’t know if the theater is showing it in 70 mm though they usually use film projectors.

      • You can check this (arguably not complete) list to see if a theater near you has a known 70mm projector. It doesn’t include IMAX theaters, though.

      • Thanks!
