What’s the best James Bond film?

Since Skyfall‘s coming up soon, it might be time to ask the ultimate James Bond question: what’s the best Bond film?

Best Bond villain, best Bond girl, best Bond. Goldfinger’s got them all.

Goldfinger‘s my personal favorite of the series.  The Sean Connery films are the strongest in my opinion, and Goldfinger leads the pack.  But what’s your favorite?

  1. I would have to agree with you on Goldfinger, it just has everything goinf for it.

    • Thanks! Goldfinger just seems to have everything right. I love all the other Connery-Bond films, and Goldfinger’s the cream of the crop.

  2. Goldfinger is a great one, but I think it’s second to Casino Royale. Craig’s Bond was a major breakthrough for the franchise because his 007 actually had feelings and genuinely fell in love. They’re both awesome movies. But adding that extra dimension to Bond really elevated Casino Royale above the rest of the series. At least, that’s my opinion.

    • Casino Royale’s great too, and one of my favorites. I like how the filmmakers made James Bond more realistic than the other ones, and thought Daniel Craig did a fantastic job. Thanks for commenting.

  3. I have always found From Russia With Love to be the most enjoyable of the Connery film’s, maybe not the truest to the rest of the series but still the best made film.
Then it would have to be GoldenEye for sheer entertainment value.

    • From Russia With Love’s a good one. I do enjoy Golden Eye as well.

  4. I’ve Always Felt That, Had Sean Connery Stayed With The Series In The 1st Place, “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” Would Have Been The True Bond Epic. Since He Didn’t, I Think Daniel Craig’s “Casino Royale” Is Likely “The Best”… BUT… MY Favorite Is A Tie Between “The Spy Who Loved Me” And “Octopussy” !!! hahahaha
Remember Dude, “The Best” and “My Favorite” Don’t Always Have To Be One In The Same 😉
    -B.

    • I think I would have like On Her Majesty’s Secret Service more if Connery was in it too (George Lazenby was my least favorite Bond). Casino Royale’s great as well, but I’d have to say that both The Spy Who Loved Me and Octopussy are more enjoyable (the Roger Moore ones get a lot of criticism, but I don’t see why). Thanks for commenting.

  5. From Russia With Love

    • That’s a great one, probably my second favorite after Goldfinger.

      • Nice. Goldfinger’s probably my second favourite, if nothing else it’s top three for sure.

  6. Goldfinger for me too. The first one I saw in its entirety was Goldeneye, though.

    • Goldfinger’s my favorite. I also enjoyed GoldenEye as well.

  7. […] today’s question, I decided to ask another Bond question.  A while ago I asked what is the Best Bond film (my answer was Goldfinger), so today I’ll be asking which was the worst? Quantum of Solace, […]
