The TCA Nominations show how a real awards show is done

A few days ago, I was griping about the Critic’s Choice Awards.  But fortunately, the Television Critic’s Association (or TCA) has shown how a real awards show works, probably because it’s run by very prestigious critics.

In fact, I have hardly any disagreement.  I would have added The Colbert Report for News and Information, replaced The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family with Veep and Archer for Best Comedy, and put Nick Offerman for Individual Achievement in Comedy and Aaron Paul for Achievement in Drama, but that’s about it and none of those are very major complaints.

I have much praise for its nominations, though you can’t go wrong with Breaking Bad and Mad Men.  Good job with HomelandBoardwalk Empire, and Justified in the Drama category, and LouieParks and Recreation, and Community for Best Comedy.

So even though awards season looks a little bleak, the TCA awards will be a shining beacon of light.
