Trailer Analysis: The Amazing Spider-Man

I saw this trailer when watching The Avengers on Friday.  And when I did, I thought to myself “wow, this looks pretty bad.”

Was Spider-Man 3 so bad that they needed to reboot the series?  Of course not?  It was far from good, (the movie fumbled with the Sandman and the fact that Venom only appeared in five minutes of the film) but it wasn’t awful, like the other threequel that came out that year Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

But onto The Amazing Spider-Man.  The film has an extraordinary amount of talent, with big names like Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.  Yet the film doesn’t appear to give a strong look at the characters comic book fans loved to read.  And Garfield does not make a good Peter Parker.

I am hoping for the chance that I may be wrong.  It does have one of the best Spidey villains, the Lizard, in it.  So that’s at least something to look for.
