The 7X7 Link Award

Here's the 7X7 Link Award Picture.

Adam Bellotto of Eat, Sleep, Television nominated me for the 7X7 Award.  Well, I’ve been pretty excited and jumping up and down.

I have actually been nominated for the award before by Matt Stewart of Matt Stewart: A Life of Going to the Movies, but I never really filled out the requirements.

For accepting the award, first I have to do three things:

1. Thank the person who chose you.

2. Share seven random facts about yourself.

3. Share seven of your posts that follow these categories: Most Beautiful Piece, Most Helpful, Most Popular, Most Controversial, Most Surprisingly Successful, Most Underrated and Most Pride Worthy.

4. Pick seven blogs you love to read to nominate.

So let’s start.

1. I’d like to thank Adam Bellotto of Eat, Sleep, Television.  He writes up reviews of TV shows and movies, and provides great commentary.  I always love reading his reviews, and he provides some great analysis of film.  I definitely recommend his blog.

I’ll also include Matt Stewart for nominating me before.  He writes movie reviews on both current and past films, and gives and interesting take on the big screen.  His writing style reminds me of the cool tone used by Roger Ebert, the legendary movie critic.  I also have to thank him for being one of the first people who commented on my blog.

2. Now the seven random facts.

1. When I was a kid, I’m pretty sure I saw the Grim Reaper creeping into my room.

2. I have had a near death experience before when I was scuba diving (I will never do that again).

3. I used to like the movie The Mask, but then I started disliking it after watching it for the 15th time.

4. I fell asleep while watching Chariots of Fire (and I wasn’t even tired).

5. I have a deathly fear of bees.

6. I once saw a wild black bear 15 feet away from me at camp (okay, I was inside, but still)

7. I once caught an eel while fishing.

3. Now for my posts.

Most Beautiful: The Tree of Life: A Film That Studies Its Background

Most Helpful: The Turnaround of the Oscar Race: The Rise of Hugo and The Help

Most Popular: Editor’s Note: Oscars and Other Upcoming Events

Most Controversial: The Taste of the Globes

Most Surprisingly SuccessfulEditor’s Note: Oscars and Other Upcoming Events (Really, why is it so popular?  It’s just a three sentence post on what I’m going to write about in the future.)

Most Underrated: Oscar Updates: 2012

Most Pride Worthy: The Descendants: The Sweet, Sad, Somber Song of Hawaii

4. Now I’ll nominate seven great blogs I enjoy.

Dan the Man’s Movie Reviews

The Movie Blog8

Ian the Cool’s Movie Reviews

Love Your Movies

Dead Homer Society

The Thrussell Project

Movieshollywoodfinest

Now I need to contact these people.  Thanks to all my readers!

  1. It’s weird, but I really want to know more about that eel story.

I always eat them in sushi restaurants but I’ve never met one in real life…

    • I was fishing at a pond and everyone else caught fish. When I caught an eel, everyone was surprised because no one knew there were eels there. The eel wasn’t too happy about that though, and we had to cut the line off.

Since then, I never look at eels the same way again.

      • That poor eel. That poor, delicious eel.

  2. Thanks for the nom, have just completed my post of this! Keel the posts coming!
