The Chuck Finale is Tonight: Should you watch?

When Chuck first came out back in 2007, it surprised critics ever.  It took a risky genre (action-comedy) for television and made it succeed.  The show had a strong premise, nerd Chuck Bartowski downloads government files in his head, and must work with two agents, John Casey and Sarah Walker, to stop terrorists and assassins.  At the same time, Chuck has a secret crush on Sarah, which gave the show a strong B-story.

Season 1 was strong, and season 2 improved off of that.  However, the writers got bored and in season 3 decided to make Chuck an action star instead of a nerd.  The show fumbled more with Chuck and Sarah’s relationship.  By season four, the show started to crash land, coming up with weak and implausible thoughts.  The show hasn’t been awful, but it’s no where near as good as it used to be.

The show has a small but dedicated audience that kept it alive until season 5.  Chuck concludes tonight with a two hour finale, revolving around Chuck and Sarah.  Should you watch?

I haven’t paid much attention to the show since its season 5 premiere.  I’ll probably see the finale tonight, which is at 8 tonight on NBC, but reluctantly.  I’m hoping for a finale that will make up for  the past few seasons, but who knows?
