The PGA Winners: The Artist and Tintin

Looks like the Producers Guild of America picked some good choices.  The Artist won best picture and The Adventures of Tintin won Best Animated Feature.  In television, The Colbert Report had deservingly won, while Boardwalk Empire won (Mad Men should have been the winner) and Modern Family also prevailed (when it should have gone to the far superior Parks and Recreation).

They were at least better than what the nominees hinted, so I’m fine with that.  Winners below.

Picture The Artist
Animated Feature The Adventures of Tintin
Documentary Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest
TV Drama Boardwalk Empire
TV Comedy Modern Family
TV Longform Downton Abbey
Live Entertainment & Talk The Colbert Report
TV News 60 Minutes
Competition The Amazing Race
TV Sports ESPN’s 30 for 30
Non-fiction TV American Masters
Childrens Sesame Street
Web Series 30 Rock Presents

  1. I agree with you on those TV-related points (especially Parks and Recreation), but I honestly wouldn’t have minded if it had been Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men, or Game of Thrones for the win.

    • I’m not that upset with Boardwalk Empire winning, but I would have like to seen Mad Men or an not nominated Breaking Bad take the prize. I really want to see Game of Thrones, but missed it on TV.
