Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Review

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is much like the last film.  It’s hard to follow if you don’t remember most of the details or names.  It has Holmes as a grade A-fighter.  And it’s more of an action film than a mystery.

I liked the original Sherlock Holmes.  Sure, it wasn’t exactly great, but it was certainly likable.  The problem with this one is it is more or less the same.

I’ll tell you a little about the story, Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Junior) and Watson (Jude Law) try to stop Professor James Moriarty (Jared Harris) from starting an anarchist plot that would cause a World War.  This film also involves a gypsy who joins Holmes to help find her brother, who’s somehow involved in this anarchist plot.  I’m not to sure what she adds to the story besides this.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is an entertaining movie.  That’s what I’m going to say.  I was impressed by the visuals of the film and the acting is good, but the story needs some work.  It’s not necessarily great, but not bad either.  But like I said before, it’s too much of the first Sherlock Holmes.  The second film should try to distinguish itself from the first.

  1. Well i hope to see this soon, and I guess there isn’t anything wrong with turning the brain off and going for entertainment, right?

    Nice review!
