The King is Dead

Sadly, Burger King has axed out their mascot, the King.  The King has been the mascot since 2004, where he starred in awkwardly funny and weird commercials, such as when a guy wakes up with the King next to him, or when the King tries to push a guy off a building.  My personal favorite is when he steals from McDonalds.

According to USAToday, Alex Macedo, Burger King’s Senior Marketing VP said “People want a reason to go back to Burger King… There are no plans to bring the King back anytime soon.”

Burger King has reportedly killed off the King in order to turn their attention to mothers instead of teens in order to turn around the company’s poor sales.

Personally, I’m sad to see the King go.  Sure, he was creepy, but he was creepily funny, well, you know what I mean.
